Course: SC204
Title: "Science Career Exploration and Technology: How can I help my students discover and critically reflect on career choices available to them in the sciences?"
Author: Theresa Cullen
Course Fee: $150.00
Credits: 1 graduate credit available
Instructor: LTTS Facilitator
Abstract: We depend on scientists for medical advances, new technology, and improvements to our lives. A lifelong interest in science does not begin in college but in students' early interactions and experiences in the classroom. Many students have no idea what careers are available to them in the sciences beyond the medical professions they may interact with in everyday life. By adding interesting and engaging activities to explore science careers into your curriculum, you can help to broaden your students' horizons and expose them to new career possibilities. In this course you will assess the needs of your students, identify resources on science careers available to your classroom, design tools and an activity to assist your students in comparing science careers, and plan for new ways to integrate career information into your curriculum.
