| Abstract: |
With millions of shares traded each year, people are investing in the stock market as a source of income and as a retirement investment. However, few investors comprehend stock market terminology or possess the ability to analyze and synthesize information in making decisions concerning stock investments. In the future, the strength of the stock market may hinge on knowledgeable investors who understand the strengths and weaknesses of the market as well as their own financial limitations. Since the stock market plays a vital role in many national economies, it is important that students have the opportunity to begin to analyze stocks so that they can begin to gain an understanding of how the stock market "works". In this course, you will design a stock market unit to engage your students in a wild but educational ride down Wall Street. You will create a unit that will help to increase your students' understanding of the stock market and the role that it plays in the global economy. Furthermore, your unit will help your students with decision-making, analysis, synthesis and problem solving skills. |
