Some portions of the assessment rubric were based on the University of Michigan Global Change Scoring Rubric for Web Project. Thanks to Carolyn Scholten from LTTS for helpful feedback and support. An article called, "An Environmental Adventure," in the NSTA journal, The Science Teacher, (October 1999, p. 26, by Revabeth L. Russell and Mardi Weber) was the original spark for my interest in Easter Island. It contains an excerpt of Jared Diamond's article, Easter's End, as well as a simulation game for students to play. The WebQuest Page, by Bernie Dodge, has templates and resource materials for teachers who wish to develop their own WebQuests, as well as a matrix of finished WebQuests for all grades levels and subjects. |
